New CT competitors about to qualify.

mbenjamingross

Since I've barely been posting on here I thought I'd leave you with a nice Challengers update before this final event gets underway. These are the folks we need to know for next years picks, so I try to pay attention. Here are all the women who have a chance to make it, and some of the men since winning this event could qualify basically anyone in the top 50.

Women: Top 5 Qualify

Top 3 are officially locked in, leaving 2 final spots.

  1. Sally Fitzgibbons - Qualified. So good to see Sally Dominating events, hopefully this translates to more CT success.

  2. Bella Kenworthy - Qualified. Exciting addition from the new generation.

  3. Isabella Nichols - Qualified. Still a force on the Challengers.

  4. Erin Brooks - So close, we need this exciting talent on the CT! At 22,820 a 9th or better improves her total to 24,440 and makes it all but certain we'll see her in the big show. A 5th does it mathematically.

  5. Nadia Erostarbe - Still miles from qualifying with 21,660. Nadia's problem is her consistency without dropping a major score. She'll be dropping a 5th, meaning a 3rd takes her 23,000, a 2nd to 24,715 and likely qualification.

  6. Vahine Fierro and Luana Silva at 19,185. Vahine would be so fun to have on tour, but she or Luana will need at least a 3rd place to pass Nadia with 21,950. While a 1st place will technically qualify either lady, 2nd is probably sufficient with 23,665.

    8. Alyssa Spencer, Yolanda Hopkins, and Bronte Macaulay likely need to win the event, which would take them to 24,150-24,235.

    11. Tessa Thyssen and Kirra Pinkerton need to win the event and then pray. 1st place takes them to 22,725, just enough for 5th place if no one else improves.

    13. Sophia Medina actually has the same requirement as Bronte just dropping a worse score. She can get second and pray, or 1st and probably be in.

Everyone else is out! The big race is going to be for that 5th spot.

The Men's side is still wide open with 7 of the 10 spots up for grabs. Here are the top 10 and a few more that I'm personally interested in.

  1. Samuel Pupo - Qualified. Shouldn't of fallen off tour in the first place, happy he's back.

  2. Ian Gouveia - Qualified.

  3. Alejo Muniz - Qualified.

  4. Miguel Pupo - Should be in regardless, but a 9th place will get the job done. Team Pupo back on top.

  5. George Pittar - Very close. 9th improves his score, 5th makes it official. Excited to see this young exciting talent.

  6. Edgard Groggia and Jackson Bunch - This is where it gets interesting. 9th place takes them to tie with Pittar, but 5th should be safe at 17,475 points.

    8. Michael Rodrigues, Joel Vaughan, Alan Cleland, and Callum Robson - All basically in the same situation. They'll likely need a 5th place finish to get to 16,130. Joel and Callum have been my picks from the start, and I love Alan Cleland. They need a result here.

    12. Mikey McDonagh - There's no nice way to say: since winning the first event of the year, he's been dreadful. The good news for Mikey is he's dropping a 49th. A 17th could possibly do the trick for 14,200, but he'll likely need a 9th- 15,720 or 5th-17,145.

    20. Dakoda Walters - Another pick of mine could edge his way in with a 3rd-14,850, but should shoot for a 2nd-16,565.

    23. Mateus Herdy - Same as Dakoda.

    40. Jett Schilling - Hasn't been his year, but a 1st place could get him in with 15,720 points.

    52. Carlos Munoz - 1st place and lots of prayer get him in with 14,620.
